Starving

Say your wish.

What is it?
We all want
something.
To avoid
death, real
or imagined.
Like a heart
pierced by
a nail, dead.
Wrapped in
linen, placed
in a coffin.

Say your wish.

What is it?
We all want
something.
To desire is
human. Flesh
is naught, misery
says otherwise.
Wallow in
despair and
you’re dead –
time ticks by
in the passing
of seasons;
you’d be like
a stoner in a
city back
alley, so

say your wish.

What is it?
We all want
something.
To feel.
To be loved.
The want for justice.
The desire for
simplicity.

Say your wish,
we all want
something even
if some wishes
go unfulfilled.
