Belief

Faiths and secularities.
These irregularities.
I am unheld.
I am undone.
I am a man without a home.
Even though I live in a thousand places.

Faces of every kind.
Friendly and unkind.
I am fearful.
I have questions.
I am a man searching.
Even though I’ve walked a thousand ways.

Faiths and secularities.
These irregularities.
I am bound
with my own unknowing.
The deeper
I search within
the less I find and I am
only hours away from
admitting I am lost.

  1. This is a wonderfully thought provoking piece. When I searched for God in my life, it seemed that, the closer I got to the answer, the more I realized how far I was from the answer…a paradox for me. Thanks for sharing. Well done!

  2. Searching searching, sometimes we spend our whole lives searching, for that which is never there.

Great piece, I could really relate to it, as often I find myself absolutely lost. I think in someway or another we are all lost.

  3. All these questions, and whom to ask… a dilemma indeed! These people? What do they know about me? Me? Heck, I am the one asking these questions…
But maybe a few iterations later, I will find the answer in “ME”

A lovely poem here! And I liked your writing style too! The rhymes and repetitions.. awesome!

    Good luck with the directions…

We have all felt this way at one time or another. I am reminded of the advice for lost hikers: Stop where you are. If you keep wandering you will only lose yourself further. Stay put, and let yourself be found.

Thanks for visiting my site, as well.

    Rhyme on!
