Watch the world turn
Far away from the cares
Of big cities where folk
Clamor for restaurant
Reservations, men buy
Expensive linerie, two
Dozen roses and chocolates
In laced heart-shaped boxes
Hoping trysts with their wives
Or lovers on the foutheenth
Of February might be worth
More than a few seconds
In dark rooms.

Many young women wish the
Fourteenth of February never
Existed, another year alone a
First gray hair wrinkles beauty
Products feign to mask.

The Devil still deceives, everyone
Is predestined for marriage.
Young Christian women might
Be too pitiable to be pitied and
So Adam is better off stealing
A wife from Eve.

Stay awake through the night.
Watch while the world turns
On its way to hell in a hand basket. Tomorrow is the fifteenth of February Wherein no one is loved.
